Born on a farm in former Yugoslavia/Serbia. Came to US at the age of 12. Graduated from CSLA - kinesiology (major) photography (minor). Began training in Judo (sensei R. Ota) and karate (sensei T. Kubota) in 1970. Competed in IKA & JKA tournaments throughout the 70's and 80's. Started a motion picture film laboratory (Cine Sports Prod, Inc. - sold), started a video production and duplication company (Northstar Video, Inc. - sold), started DVD quality control company (Check Disc Labs, Inc. - sold) currently in a LLC ownership Masters magazine. Always have been involved in film and video production including documentaries, commercials, infomercials and instructional content. Happily married since 1988 with two wonderful children.

Began at the age of twelve in 1970. Sensei Kubota was kind enough to let me train for free (cleaned the dojo). Trained 3 to 5 hour per day until black belt. Compited nationaly and internationaly. Still training/teaching 3 to 4 times per week.

Martial arts allowed me to travel and see the world. It is a way of life. As we train we live. It gives me a place of piece where I can learn and bond with humanity.
