I have about 30 trees presently, in multiple stages of training. I lost several last year due to overwhelming heat and drought we suffered almost the entire summer. Even watering twice daily and trying to shade them wasn't enough.

Our local society is doing a show in April featuring shohin specimens. I'm hoping to have a leaning hinoki cypress and a windswept shimpaku juniper ready for that one.
