Due to requests for price reduction (now as low as
$86 per person for
the weekend, all inclusive) and a need to house more
participants than
originally expected, the location of the Cyberque has
shifted slightly
to the east - as a result is better than ever. It is closer
to the
airports/cities and much cheaper.

The new location is Camp
Ladore Lodge and Center http://www.ladore.org/
in
Waymart Pa. This location boasts 1400 acres of grounds with a 265
acre lake,
waterfalls, woodland trails, mountain views, and perfect
workout areas, both
outdoor and indoor, for options that cost less than
dinner and a movie.
Nearby towns of Honesdale http://www.honesdale.com/
, Hawley http://www.hawleywallenpaupackcc.com/ and Scranton
http://www.lackawannacounty.org/index.aspx offer many
shopping and
sightseeing options as well.
The most recent updates are in
the Cyberque core information forum post.
With overwhelming response, folks
wanted a more relaxed training
schedule, more interpersonal and free time
(fishing, hiking etc.) and
more time for one-on-one time .. so we changed
it.
Because of the hiccups with MAF we were able to extend
the
non-refundable RSVP/payment date until April 20th so feel free to
drop
me a note on MAF or cyberque2@gmail.com if you have any
questions or
interest.
Nutshell Version:
Where: Camp Ladore
Lodge and Centerhttp://www.ladore.org/ in Waymart Pa
When: Saturday 05/26/07
and Sunday, 05/27/07
How much? $86 for the weekend (including meals) for the
bunkhouse, $131
for the weekend (including meals) for a double-occupancy
room.
Why: A cyberque is an informal gathering; an event held to put faces
and
voices to those we know in cyberspace. We will have a planned
but
informal demonstration/sharing time, followed by a social time and
some
small group seminars on many topics of interest. Martial Art rank
and
achievement are to be honored, the beginner and the master equally.
We
attend to learn, share, laugh, and enjoy the richness and
diversity
found in the Martial Art world. The goal is to arrive with an open
mind
and leave with lasting friendships and knowledge.
This note from a
participant really caught my eye: "I like the idea of
having a more informal
event. So many of us probably attend seminars or
training where it is
difficult to talk to a presenter or karate-ka on
the side because of time and
the high demand of questions at the end.
So, to have it where there is more
time for side bars is great. I also
like the fact there is waterfalls and
such because that means there are
some great opportunities for photo ops in
my gi."
Another person is attending for the fishing, oh, the training, no,
the
fishing ...........
Yet another Que veteran is attending because he
had so much fun just
getting to know and laughing with the people he met (and
he learned a
little too).
Pre-registered and paid participants only -
Ladore does not allow walk-ons.

Training Schedule
The trainings are now open-circle
style, each idea kickoff will be led
by a volunteer facilitator,
demonstrated and then left open to ideas
from the floor. Some planned topics
are the study of motion, bunkai,
psychology, variations in styles, and
drills. There is a very diverse
group in attendance, representing multiple
ranks and styles so time is
also allowed for the topics to be introduced as a
natural progression
based on the interest of the participants. Plenty of time
is allowed,
and all the participants (especially the many of teaching ranks)
are
willing and open to one-on-one or small group time to further
explore
any topic you may have found particularly of interest. During group
time
the emphasis is to get as much variety of thought and style
presented,
so Julie will be ready with the hook for anyone getting
too
long-winded - you have been warned! :D.
Saturday: Group time from
1 - 3 (or longer for those who which to take
something
further).
Sunday: Group time from 10 - 12 Lunch from 12 to 1 Group from 1
to 3 or
longer.
Rules Regs. and Other Boring Stuff:
When I ran a
secretarial service, I always had to tell clients everyone
wants cheap, fast,
and correct; realistically they will get two out of
three, so choose which
two. This location has the lowest price I think
we could possibly find,
beautiful grounds, awesome training areas, an
unbeatable outdoor experience
and is reasonably accessible. What they
are not great at is political
correctness.
The Salvation Army does not permit alcohol on the grounds
whatsoever
(there is a bar at the end of the driveway though). All buildings
are
non-smoking. Smoking is to be outdoors in a way that is discreet
and
non-intrusive to anyone, including proper disposal. They also do
not
support anything but the most conservative of lifestyles.
Blatant
flaunting of disregard for their policies will get the *entire
group*
thrown out; leave the "special t-shirt" home. Feel free to e-mail
me
with any questions regarding this matter.

AIRPORT
Largest would be 1.
Philadelphia, about 2 hours away. JFK in NYC is
about 2 1/2 hours because of
traffic.
Next largest (easier) would be Allentown PA (1 hr 30 minutes
away)
Avoca (easiest) or Binghamton (easiest) would be closest, both about
40
minutes away. All are direct interstate access. We are just off 81
and
it is a "main vein" from Canada to Florida.
Philly/Allentown/Avoca: PA
Turnpike N to 81 N., exit and about 10
country miles with only two
well-labeled turns. Philly to here 2 hours
with light traffic.
Jersey/NYC
(JFK) 80 - 380 - 81N NYC to here 2 1/2 hours here if
regular
traffic.
Northern: I think 17 to 81 will verify. We made it from
Salem Mass home
in 4 1/2 hours doing the speed limit (ish)

another option.
