planning for chinese new year menus

on this new year's eve day, i'm planning for the chinese new year, which i also try to celebrate as best i can, which is mostly by cooking food for friends ;-) (at their house....because i've got the tiniest kitchen in the world!)

 so, since it's a 2 week affair (hurray!) i figure i can plan menus for more than one gathering.

one menu will be based on louisiana foods (my friend was born in louisiana) rather than chinese
