Okinawan Karate Seminar with Kenji Ushiro, 7th Dan
Kenji Ushiro Sensei teaches a style of Okinawan Karate called Shindo-Ryu. His teacher, Nikichi Zaha, was a direct student of Choshin Chibana, a pivotal figure in the development of modern Okinawan Karate. Ushiro Sensei is a 7th dan Kyoshi of Shindo-ryu Karetedo and 7th dan Kyoshi of Iaido, All-Japan Kendo Federation.
Ushiro Sensei’s mastery of ki, as expressed through his karate, is at a level rarely seen in the world of martial arts. He is a highly sought-after instructor in Japan, has been one of the featured instructors at both Aikido Journal’s Aiki Expo’s and was the subject of an episode of the popular tv program “Mind Body & Kickass Moves.” (a clip of this show can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TRlf_RXrqRQ ). This is Ushiro Sensei’s first trip to the Northeastern United States. This seminar is a rare opportunity for any style of martial artist to work on increasing the ability to generate and use internal power in the execution of an art. This seminar will be kept small in size in order to allow for an intense and personal training experience for all of the participants. Registration for this event is mandatory and training spaces for this event are expected to fill-up quickly.
