I started reading like a wild animal early in life. I read all the Great Books, and stuff like Old Yeller, The Raft, bios of different Presidents, and putative heroes. I went through lots of philosophy-esp phenomenology, theology, social science during college. Overdosed on psychology and psychiatry in graduate school. Tend to read non-fiction more than fiction but I love Walker Percy. Been reading James Webb, Tom Clancy, etc. I am into cosmology, the life sciences, history (Arnold Toynbee), Native American stuff, physics, and so on. I avoid self-help and most psychology like the plague. I pay attention to martial arts classics and keep an eye open for cool new stuff. Ill get around to favorites another day.

Music has been a constant companion throughout my life. Its pretty clear to me that music is a universal language. Music cant lie. It can be very healing or unhealthy. Music is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. Some musicians and physicists actually believe the Uni-verse IS music. Sounds like a bit much but it works for me. When you ask good musicians where does the music come fom, its very common to hear this response: Dunno really, it comes through me.its all around.in the air I listen to the sounds of space recorded by NASA as Voyagers I and II left out solar system; fascinating and relaxing stuff. I enjoy those environment cds. I am into songbirds, the wind, the ocean, the woodsall natural sounds that can sound like a Symphony to me. I listen to all kinds of music. I go in cycles. Sometimes, I am just listening to classical. I really dig solo instrumental classical stuff. I love World music especially the sounds of indigenous peoples instruments, chants, etc. I like listening to those best ofs from different decades. I like bluegrass, Irish bands, Chet Atkins. I like Louis Armstrong and Ray Charles. I was raised on music played by Philadelphia djs on FM stations in the 60s and 70s. I realy like Pat Metheny, Lyle Mays, Keith Jarrett, the Neville brothers, Ravi Shankar. These guys played everything. They turned us on to all albums and artists. This was when djs played what they wanted, when they wanted. They could play album sides of new Todd or Billy Joel or YES, or Stevie Wonder, Van Morrison, Dylan, and so on. My first concert was 6.12.1976 at JFK stadium in Phillythat started at noon and ended around 1 am..Mummers, Pousette Dart Band, Gary Wright, Peter Frampton, and YES.. My kids turn me on to new stuff. I will need to add to this since I realize many of my favorites havent been mentioned.

Like to meet: I am most interested in unpretentious down to earth people who arent afraid to be themselves. Humility is very important to me, so I look for it in other people. I am fascinated by people of all ages, diverse backgrounds, different cultures, and so on. I tend to prefer people who leave the beaten path. I have tremendous respect for people who have struggled a great deal and/or are engaged in a struggle. I like people who prefer to operate under the radar but really admire folks who call attention to injustice. I pay attention to everyone that crosses my path. I work hard to learn something from everybody even if its just patience and controlling urges to break bones. Im interested in quid pro quo business and networking relationships. I like people who have spent too much time having to tell predators..No.

Interests: Too many things. My kids top the list. Nature, music, reading, writing, martial arts, Notre Dame football, fishing, running in the woods, hanging with friends, making dreams come true, walking in balance, making new friends, stargazing; Finishing up the transition from the first part of my life to the second.unlearning so much nonsense and craziness that is part of the socialization process and all things that cloud my vision and interfere with waking up. Getting rid of clutter, simplification. Doing my part to help leave the world a better place for my children. Regaining a sense of wonder, mystery, awe, lightness that I had as a childspreading it around.
