Okinawa-Te Karate In New Zealand
Posted On 03/16/2007 00:57:13 by kobudo2007

Being the New Zealand National Cheif Instructor has opened my eyes to many things.. For one I have a much greater appreciation for all martial art styles systems. At present I am rated as the my countries leading authority on all aspects of Okinawa-te karate, even though I personally believe that I have much to learn. It's not enough to posess knowledge, I believe it's important as an instructor that you lead by example.

I enjoy pushing myself to my limits.. perfection of technique is always at the top of the list. There is nothing like seeing your students or the students of your instructors glow with excitement when they get something right, no matter what level of challenge it is set at and you acknowledge their success. In my opinion it's very important that students and fellow instructors recieve praise for not only achievement but also attempting.

Lucky for me, my enitire family participate in this dynamic art. And our family dojo helps unify us all and maintains a strong level of ethics and positive support.
