I've been told that Coming-of-Age Day came on the thirteenth day of January in this year 2008 rather than the fourteenth because it was decided that they didn't want to wait in line for crowded trains on Japan Railways (JR), and so the Kitakyushu Day would be on the Sunday before the rest of the country.
