Sensei Noriyasu Kudo began his martial arts study in his native Japan at the age of 6 in Sumo. By high school he was the all-Japan High School Sumo Champion, the smallest person to ever hold this title.
Kudo Sensei’s training is drawn from the tough years of post WWII Japan where he was uchi deshi of Master Kitabayashi at the Kodokan and assigned to teach Judo and Police arresting techniques to the Imperial Guard and the Tokyo Metropolitan police and several universities.
Sensei has dedicated his life to martial arts and now in his 70’s holds 8th Dan in Kodokan Judo, 8th Dan in Tani ha Shito Ryu, 4th Dan in Enshin Ryu and dan ranks in Shotokan, Kendo and Kyokushinkai.
He will focus his seminar on street and personal defense techniques of old school judo that were more prominent in the Kodokan curriculum prior to onset of Judo becoming more sport orientated.
