Title: Bad Behavior at Olympics
Tags: TKD, Olympics
Blog Entry: Cuban Tae Kwon Do stylist Angel Matos, along with his coach, was banned for life from the sport today by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation.  The Olympics Committee further announced that all mention of Matos' participation in the Beijing Olympics would be erased from the records. During a bronze medal bout today, Matos, who had been winning the match, took a blow and went to the mat.  Olympic rules allow a fighter one minute of recovery time after such a knock-down, after which he must rise and resume.  Matos failed to rise after one minute and was disqualified.  Shortly after, he pushed a judge, then punched and kicked a referee in the face, spat on the mat and stalked out of the ring. His coach offered no apology for the behavior and accused one of the judges of attempting to fix the fight.
