Blog Entry: For starters, I am a noob here at MAF. Ive been here about 2 weeks and I am impressed! Like many of you, I spend my some time at the puter checking out other MA sites, videos, and the like. It can be very discouraging sometimes. Martial arts belong to a unique plateau of lifestyle- because most martial arts are taught with a concurrent morality. In 1983 when I started, I was drilled in in the code of hwa rang before I really knew what it meant. We brought our front foot back because it was the least aggressive movement. Simply put, martial artists were better people because they chose to be. There was a brotherhood, a commaraderie. Mutual respect. Now ten minutes on the net and we see things like 'your martial art sucks' , and battalians of know it all keyboard warriors who will berate anything for the cheap ego boost. That is NOT a real martial artist. Somehow, I tripped on a link for MAF and robotically clicked the link not expecting much.... Thank you for proving me wrong! The folks here are wonderful, the blogs intelligent, freindliness and mutual respect seem epidemic. That, my friends, IS the calling card of genuine martial art. And I thank you all for it. Jon
