I don't wish for things, I create them. That being said, I would like to:
1)See the invisible
2)Feel the intangible
3)Achieve the impossible

I am committed to being a martial artist for the rest of my life. I thirst for both Budo and Bujutsu, and am always looking for training. I believe that martial arts can and should teach you to defend yourself, but should also give you a set of values that you can live your life by. I believe in the five elements and that they exist in all of us. Finally, I believe in being a student for life. Never losing the "white belt" mindset will take you far, and I always enjoy putting on the white belt and seeing things with fresh eyes.

Seibukan Jujutsu is the art that I have dedicated myself to for the time being. My teacher and mentor is Julio Toribio. I train at the Seibukan hombu dojo in Monterey, CA. I am dedicated to learning the art from him and his Shihan, teaching it, and helping it to grow over the next six years and beyond.
I have been studying Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu in the past year to enhance my jujutsu training. Although it is not my main focus, my teacher is Shidoshi and connected to Soke. He is true to the teachings of Hatsumi Sensei and I attend Bujinkan seminars and events whenever I can.
I am continuing my studies of Seikendo, a healing martial art. It is a synthesis of shiatsu, massage therapy and energy meridian stimulation. I give treatments to select people for the time being and will soon receive my certificate of completion of the system.
I have casually done some Aikido, but look forward to stepping up my commitment to the art in the future.

I use martial arts to improve my health, my relationships, and to experience abundance. The teachings of Toribio Sensei, his teachers and students, and Maasaki Hatsumi have changed my way of thinking.

Sharing my budo with others and seeing it make a difference in the training and lives of the students.

The trasition from jujutsu to ninjutsu is a challenge, because you have to reprogram yourself. Whenever you train in a new martial art some people will see your previous training and tell you that it is wrong. While some of it may be, the challenge for me is taking new techniques and incorporating them into my bujutsu, without abandoning my previous training.

Dojos that are friendly, clean, and respectful of the art that they teach. Instructors who are dedicated to your success. A family dynamic among students. Most of all, a serious attitude towards training.
|
|
I am cautious of politics, egos, competitiveness, and most of all, arrogance. That being said, these are things you have to experience so you can appreciate what a healthy dojo is like..

|
Playing and listening to music. I play guitar and bass. I enjoy writing my thoughts down in a journal and sometimes blogging about it. I enjoy history and study martial arts history. I also enjoy philosophy and thinking about living an ethical life. Finally, I do play video games as a de-stressor from time to time.

I don't know, I don't like to think of things as my saddest or happiest times. Loss, sorrow, and even hate have a natural place in our lives. But they always pass and are a sign that you are worthy of being tested. So I appreciate those things and keep going.

Right now. I am where I want to be in my life. I am young and healthy, I have incredible friends and teachers, and I have enough money to do the things I want and no more. Although I sometimes let myself down and disappoint others, I never said I was a master. I am only a master of being myself.
